Penny's Pet Pantry

Help us keep our community animals fed and safe

Our mission with Penny's Pet Project is simple. We aim to help our struggling friends and neighbors care for their pets and fixed feral colonies. Money is tight for so many right now and one of the hardest items people have the hardest time getting their hands on during financial instability is pet food. We've learned over the last few years that one major contributing factor to animals being surrendered is lack of resources to care for them, even if temporary. By supporting those going through a tough time, we are not only keeping animals in their loving homes, we are lessening the burden on our local shelters and fosters.

This is why we are committing ourselves to collecting food at the cafe indefinitely to distribute to those in need. We will be working with our friends at SNIPP to ensure no animals go hungry on our watch whether they be in homes or colonies where fixed feral cats can stay safe.

We have a link below to our wishlist or items can be dropped off at the cafe anytime. Thank you so much for helping us make a real difference in our community.

Penny

Our cross-eyed orange queen came to us after losing one of the only people she learned to trust. Transitioning to life at the cafe was a lot for a cat like her.  She was quiet, shy, reserved, and sometimes a little spunky during her stay with us but Penny was lucky enough to find a person who knew that behind the swipes was a cat who was scared and sometimes lashed out because of her eyesight. We are happy to report Penny is thriving. She's so loved and deserves the world. Some of our cats attain a local celebrity status and she is one of them! We are so proud of our little Penny Girl!

Penny

This girl was born to a mama who was severely malnourished. Mom Pippi did everything she could for her babies but just didn't have a lot to give until she reached a loving foster home. Alex and I were lucky enough to name her and her siblings and this was little Pennywise. We called her Penny. At just a few days old Penny had a seizure and would continue to battle a seizure disorder while on several medications until it took her life in August of 2024. Her vet teams believes her disorder was a direct result of her mom being so malnourished that Penny missed out on key nutrients in utero. It's a harsh reality but this happens more than you could guess. Our mission with this project is to make sure nothing like this can happen to a mom cat and her babies again.
